Spirit of Christmas at Greenwich

Traditional carols and readings featured at the university’s Carol Services celebrating the start of the festive season.

The University of Greenwich Choir led by conductor and choir director Nicholas Jenkins welcomed the community to join the two free services.

Ahead of the concert, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Maguire, held his annual reception where guests heard from Bradley Cory, a BSc Hons Biological Sciences student and one of five 2017 Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund recipients.

The Fund provides annual scholarships for those who have the talent, but not necessarily the financial means, to study at the university.

In 2011, Bradley suffered a stroke and faced many challenges. He said being at Greenwich has given him a massive boost and helped him focus on becoming a neurological scientist.

The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship is helping Bradley to pursue and develop projects to educate and support younger people with disabilities of all types. This includes his work at the university as a Senior *AccessAbility Ambassador in a programme called STAART.
