Greenwich graduate nominated for British Council alumni award

We’re proud to announce that Ahmed Somaida, a graduate of the university’s MSc Pharmaceutical Biotechnology programme, has been nominated for a Social Impact Award at the British Council Egypt’s Study UK Alumni Awards 2019. The award acknowledges alumni who have made an exceptional contribution to creating positive social change.

Ahmed graduated from the University of Greenwich in 2016 and is the co-founder of Hayatna for Development, in Beni Suef Governorate. He has established the Hayatna Charity Center for Infant Incubators, which contributes to saving the lives of around 3,000 newborn infants per year, and has launched the Hayatna Prize for Science and Arts for young people to improve their skills.

We wish Ahmed the best of the luck at the awards ceremony which takes place tomorrow (Tuesday 26 February) at The British Embassy in Cairo.
