Help inspire and guide University of Greenwich students by getting involved in our Career Mentoring Scheme. You could help make a difference to our students by offering 2 hours a month for 5 months.

What is the Career Mentoring Scheme?

The Career Mentoring Scheme helps University of Greenwich students to plan and prepare for placements or internships through involvement in a mentoring relationship with a professional. The scheme is flexible: meetings and activities are mutually agreed between mentor and mentee for the duration of the five months, from February to June 2020, communicating via e-mail or telephone and face-to-face meetings. Mentees are usually undergraduate students looking to undertake a placement as part of their degree and graduate work or postgraduate students also looking to undertake a placement as part of their degree, but usually more interested in setting up their own businesses.

How long is the scheme?

A mentor will provide their mentee with career-focused support through two hours of contact time per month. The next wave starts on the 24th of February and ends in June 2020. There will be a review midway and an award ceremony on the 4th of June 2019, where mentors and mentees will receive their certificates followed by a celebratory reception.

How to Apply?

If you are interested in participating please fill the following application form so that the Business School Employability Office can provide you with the best match possible.

How are students matched with mentors?

BSEO looks through the applications of both mentors and mentees and tries to make the best match possible. The matching process will be done week beginning 17th February and matches announced week beginning 24th February. Once matched, it is the mentee’s responsibility to get in touch with their mentors first.
