Memories of Greenwich

The welcoming tutors are something that I will never forget. They were very thoughtful and kind when sharing their knowledge with us. Looking back, we had a great class that worked well together – and I miss my fellow graduates.

The University of Greenwich has a prestigious background and is well known around the globe; that was my reason for choosing it. But video games has always been something I’ve loved to enjoy as a hobby, so learning how to make them made complete sense.

My course leader and tutors were amazing, I have nothing negative to say about them at any point through my course. Since graduating I’ve stayed in good communication with the programme lead, Darrenlloyd, and often meet him at industry events or speak at the university to new students.

One important piece of advice I learnt during my studies is to concentrate on your course deliverables and don’t let them sneak up on you.

Life after Greenwich

I had started my own company, Greenlight Games, before completing my studies and have worked for myself ever since. Following my graduation, I was recognised as the ‘West Kent’ winner at the Young Startup Talent awards in 2015.

Over the last seven years I have worked with many famous brands and titles, such as Shaun the Sheep. I also own an Escape Room based in Eltham.

Most recently, I formed Black Smoke Studios, a new games studio in Kajaani, Finland, which now employs over 25 members of staff and is valued at over $5 million.
