Jason Turner

BSc Sports Science, 1997

DIRECTOR, DEUTSCHE BANK

“The University of Greenwich provided me with a strong learning environment and presented many opportunities to develop, both through my studies and my love of sport.”

Jason Turner is a Director at Deutsche Bank. He provides wealth management advice to clients including ultra-high net worth families and individuals from the world of tennis, golf and Formula One. He was dubbed a rising star of the City in Brummell’s Ones to Watch 2015 – Top 30 Under 40 list.

Jason places high value in connecting his trusted circle of complementary advisers and service providers with one another for the benefit of mutual clients. He has ploughed the same networking and investment skills into his causes. As first Business Ambassador for social inclusion charity, School of Hard Knocks, he brought together a board of influential City figures to raise funds.

The charity’s CEO, Ken Cowen, says: “Jason is a force of nature! He has combined sharp business expertise with a genuine passion for the work, to the highest degree. He is a constant source of encouragement to the whole team.”

Jason’s first love was sport. A captain of both rugby and cricket teams at school, he read Sports Science at Greenwich and played for Wasps Rugby team: it still casts an influence over his life. School of Hard Knocks uses rugby, boxing and mentoring to help young people improve in self-confidence and employability and is one of the most high-profile programmes for excluded individuals in the UK.

Today he is Chairman of the university’s Sports Strategy Board which promotes and sets the framework for sport as an extra-curricular activity for students.

“The board aims to give sport an ever increasing role in student development and the value that can be placed on their time here. We will help drive a strong and positive culture of success and improve the student experience. It’s a real honour to be asked to fulfil this role.”

“The University of Greenwich provided me with a strong learning environment and presented many opportunities to develop, both through my studies and my love of sport. I look back at my time at Greenwich with a strong sense of achievement.”
