“Get stuck in, especially if it is something you’ve never done before. It took me a little while to find my feet at university and really get involved with what was going on, but it really is a game changer when you do. Over my three years I did things I never thought I could and met some incredible people.“

Memories of Greenwich 

My fondest memories of Greenwich include getting settled in my first year flat in Jane Seymour, competing with the Greenwich Mermaids Cheerleading Team, and working in the Enquiries Team during Clearing. Being part of so many different things while at Greenwich gave me the opportunity to find myself academically and shape me as a person.

I chose Greenwich because it ticked all the boxes for me. My course was flexible, with an elective in first year, and plenty of optionality in third year. I was based at Avery Hill, meaning everything I could need was on my doorstep, plus living in the student village meant I could fully immerse myself in the experience.

My personal tutor and my dissertation supervisor were incredible, giving enough guidance for me to get it right while also making sure I wasn’t afraid to make mistakes. Third year has to be the favourite overall though; the freedom that I got from selecting course options across the board meant that I was able to really explore areas of psychology that I had enjoyed throughout the course, as well as pushing myself to try new things.

Life after Greenwich 

Since finishing at Greenwich, I have gone on to complete my MSc in Forensic Psychology and my DTLLS course before teaching on the same access course that started it all for me. I’ve now stepped across to lecturing in psychology at university while working on my PhD.
