Course: BA Public Relations and Communication, 2018

Job: Senior Account Manager, M&C Saatchi

“I chose Greenwich as my university for so many reasons – the campus, the location, the industry connections, and the course itself. The first time I visited I could just see myself studying there and knew deep down it was the right decision.”

Memories of Greenwich

My Snapshot was taken on my graduation day, which is probably the proudest moment of my life to date. My university journey wasn’t easy for many reasons but to accomplish a first-class degree in a field I love and feel so passionate about is a wonderful feeling.

The Greenwich campus is simply beautiful. It is inspiring and jaw-dropping, which sets the scene perfectly for anyone striving to accomplish their degree.

My degree course was more than I expected. The small size of the year group meant we all formed a close bond, making the learning environment more comfortable which allowed everyone to shine in their own way.

The course content was engaging and interesting and has been so relevant for the job I do now, and has helped with my career progression no end. The connections I met through my studies have become friends and colleagues, and I can hand-on-heart say my first-class result is my biggest accomplishment in life.

Life after Greenwich

When studying, I completed my placement year at the PR agency I still work for, now as a Senior Account Manager. My placement year allowed me to gain skills I could never have dreamt I’d have after my degree, let alone during.

Due to the opportunities my placement gave me I have been able to progress in my career and have enjoyed fast-tracked promotions due to my hard work and commitment. None of this could have been possible without my degree.

For anyone preparing for life after Greenwich, use the opportunities given to you at university, and take the time to really listen to every person you meet and don’t be afraid to open yourself up to learning.
