“Having a University of Greenwich MBA has opened many doors for me and my career. More than that it has given me the knowledge to do more, achieve more, be more.”

Memories of Greenwich

The best learning takes place when groups discuss and exchange ideas. It’s okay to disagree and to not be afraid to have differences of opinion. I remember many discussions either in the classroom or over a coffee with my fellow students debating our differing points of view.

My decision to study at Greenwich was based on the fact that I could study in the evenings and that it was on my commute home from work. I thoroughly enjoyed the learning, and both the formal and informal elements of the programme.

Life after Greenwich

At the start, achieving my MBA simply enabled me to better understand the businesses and companies I was selling technology and consulting to. Understanding in detail how a company performs, measures and reports is a great tool to have in any client engagement. The ability to ask the right questions is best driven from a good base knowledge of understanding. My MBA gave me that base and allowed me to achieve much more in my career as a result.

When I set up my own consulting business the focus was on Growth Strategy and Sales Growth. This includes advising clients on how to accelerate their business, achieve more profitable growth, and focus on overall top line performance and excellence. Being able to understand complex financials and its commercial impact, having a deep understanding of how marketing and sales align to accelerate growth and an overarching view of how all businesses operate is vital in any successful career. My MBA gave me the tools to achieve that.

As a consultant not only am I applying everything I learned at Greenwich I am also able to share it with others either as a consultant or in my book. My journey to a successful career really began when I completed my MBA.
