Course: MSc Food Safety and Quality Management, 2014

Job: Technical Manager, Ruby’s Food Products Ltd

“During the programme I made a lot of friends from around the world and with different cultural experiences. All the lecturers were very friendly and supportive and they still remember us to this day.”

Memories of Greenwich

I planned to develop my knowledge in food safety so that I could get more opportunities in the Sri Lankan food industry and become a specialist in this field. The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) offered a masters programme and compared to other universities, the course from NRI and its benefits to my career were explained clearly. This helped me to map my future career plan before I even began the programme.

This photo reminds me of the presentation skills I developed during my time at NRI to help me become a good food safety trainer and manager. I achieved that target and worked as a food safety consultant in Sri Lanka and working as a Technical Manager in London. The programme was a really good experience and a blessing in my educational and professional journey.

Life after Greenwich

I am working as a Technical Manager for Ruby’s Food products Ltd in London. My role involves working with all the internal and external stakeholders to ensure that product safety and quality is maintained to the highest standard.

Before this role, I worked as a food safety consultant in Sri Lanka and contributed to food safety standards in the Sri Lankan food industry. This master’s degree has enhanced my personal and professional development to find a job opportunity easily anywhere in the world.
