Studying with University of Greenwich has opened doors that I would not have previously accessed.”

Memories of Greenwich

During my studies, I was able to make friends that I have continued to be in close contact with long after graduating, I am also happy to say that I managed to convince my husband to study from Greenwich, mostly so he could understand the late nights and level of effort and dedication it took me to graduate. I am happy to say that he graduated in the class of 2019.

I would like to express my appreciation to the lecturers that taught me for their commitment, particularly Ms Malaniya Chanakira and Dr Kwesi Sakyi for their belief in me and willingness to give their time outside of school hours.

Life after Greenwich

Since leaving Greenwich, I have worked in senior management positions in the NGO Sector. Working for NGO’s has been most fulfilling to me because not only am I able to dream about ideal societies, I believe my work helps me to make positive contributions in the growth and development of communities whether directly or indirectly.

I am currently working as Regional Human Resource Business Partner with Tearfund (an International Christian Relief and Development Agency) where I cover eight countries in the South and East African region.

I feel lucky to be able to make a living doing work that is in alignment with my values and beliefs. I know for a lot of people work is something they do to pay bills. For me, working as a humanitarian aid worker feels like ‘a calling’, if you will. It’s not just a job that is able to pay my bills. I have found work that combines my interestspassion, and career aspirations all in one.

I am also honoured to have had many opportunities to travel within Africa and abroad. This exposure has helped me connect with people from different cultures and provided the opportunity to see issues and daily life challenges from a different angle and to gain a great appreciation of cultural difference.

I see the relevance and practicality of the subjects I took, particularly managing across borders in my MBA programme and how it has equipped me for the role that I currently hold.
