“Having a degree from Greenwich has provided me a clear distinction in my professional career and the skills and knowledge I have gained has helped me in performing my job in the best way.”

Memories of Greenwich

It was a great time at university. I remember enjoying a cup of coffee and my favourite chocolate bar, Snickers, after a long day of classes. Also, at weekends I used to sit in Greenwich Park with friends. Every moment was precious.

I am from a remote part of Kashmir, Pakistan, and it was always a dream to study in the UK. The Business School offered a wide range of subjects in business studies and I was grateful to get a positive response from Greenwich after applying.

I learned a lot during my studies. The knowledge of the subject, my writing and presentation skills, and ability to take on challenging tasks, have all improved. It was great studying at Greenwich, and I feel like it’s my second home.

Life after Greenwich

I pursued a career in the humanitarian and development sectors in Pakistan. I am delighted to have worked with organisations including the European Commission, UNDP, UN Habitat, and currently with the German Development Agency. My postgraduate degree from Greenwich has played a major role in my career.

The study pattern and methodology were totally new for me and with a little struggle I got acquainted with the system, coursework, long hours of classes, and especially the dissertation. All of this has given me a new set of skills that I have used throughout my career.

I am looking forward to coming back to Greenwich to visit the university this September, after 17 years, and coming back to the campus is one of the main reasons for making a trip back to the UK.
