Course: MBA International Business, 2018

Job: Communications and Liaison Specialist, Peace Corps Zambia

“My graduation ceremony was held in the Old Royal Naval College’s Chapel, which is rich with history and art. As the professors walked in one after the other, clad in their spectacular gowns, the pipe organ was playing. It was just so beautiful and surreal, it felt as if all the other #GreGrads that had gone before us were there too, looking on.”

Memories of Greenwich

This photo was taken on my graduation day in July of 2018. It was a beautiful summer day which felt extra special because I’d travelled all the way from Zambia, after saving for about a year. The icing on the cake was that I also bumped into 3 of my fellow classmates who also travelled, making it a fully amazing experience!

I chose the MBA with Greenwich because it was going to award me with an Internationally recognised qualification. I also wanted a programme that was not only theoretical but practical, to broaden my understanding of business and management.

The course was run through a partnership with ZCAS (Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies). I appreciated that the modules always had a group assignment, bolstering the spirit of teamwork. We also had simulations in several courses too, like the Beer game which provided real life situational issues so that we figure out how to respond in a business setting.

Life after Greenwich

Since completing my studies, I transitioned from the banking industry to the development sector, and I find that I still use the knowledge I acquired through my degree. For instance, one course in particular ‘Managing people across cultural borders’ prepared me to deal with cultural differences in a dynamic institution.
